In its operational activities, Pertamina Gas continually interacts both directly and indirectly with other parties and stakeholders, particularly the people living near its operational areas and around its development project locations. These interactions often have an impact, and in order to preserve harmonious relations, throughout 2009 Pertamina Gas allocated more than Rp 4 billion to be used for:
Social assistance related to the relocation of the East Java Pipe.
Infrastructure construction assistance for 14 villages in Sidoarjo Regency (Banjarpaji, Banjarsari, Bligo, Durungbanjar, Kedung Kerdo, Klurak, Penatarsewu, Permisan, Plumbon, Sumokali, Tenggulunan, Wedoklurak, and Kedungpeluk)
Assistance with construction of district infrastructure in 4 districts in Sidoarjo Regency and assistance of road paving and provision of fluorescent lamps for street lights in the areas affected by pipe relocation project.
Social assistance of clean water provision in the form of 3 wells and water storage tanks for the people of Baturaja village in Dangku District.
Donations to 3 orphanages.
Social assistance related to the preparation of land for the LPG Plant, including donations and improvements to village infrastructure, donations of groceries and sacrificial animals etc. This was provided through PT Dempo in the form of a lump sum.
Social assistance related to the Pondok Tengah Pipe project in the form of construction of village infrastructure, village assistance and other types.
Other assistance related to professional organizations in the form of sponsorship.
Use of company land to empower farmers around the Cilamaya operational area.
