In Pondok Tengah LPG Plant development, PT Pertamina Gas was corporate with PT MME and Regional Own Company, where the LPG Plant development is using BOO business scheme with PT Yudistira Energy. The background of this project was due to the gas flare from gas production in Tambun field and Pondok Tengah field, where the gas was substantial yet not been exploited. This condition was contradicts with the no flare gas policy and the Environmental policy, Pondok Tengah LPG Plant was built to overcome these problems, this project considered as an effective solution that also provide an economic value to the company. The economic value from this project could be seen from the LPG content in Tambun gas and Pondok Tengah gas, where those gases are economic enough to be extracted at once and to fill the LPG domestic needs.

The NGL Extraction Plant and the NGL Fractionation Plant development in South Sumatera is followed by 90 km pipe infrastructure development that intend to connect those two plants in order to transmit the NGL fraction. This project aimed to get added value from natural gas processing (LPG mix, Propane, and Condensate) to increase Pertamina’s revenue and perform the domestic LPG PSO and to utilize Pertamina’s idle assets. Moreover, this project is being developed because the gas in Musi - Prabumulih mainline pipes still contains LPG that has economic value, by utilizing that gas this project is expected to increase the domestic LPG supply and to reduce the government imports.
